Rewards Credit Cards Can Be Useful

It’s no secret that many credit cards come with a number of perks that make them incredibly useful. Whilst most Australians do own credit cards, many are simply unaware that their cards could actually save them a ton of cash, or they could give them privileged access to a variety of events and offers. If you do have a credit card, you should bear in mind that whilst all the rewards provided can be very useful, you should still compare them to the general value of the card by measuring them against the annual fee and interest rate.

Great for foodies

If you have ever visited one of the Night Noodle Markets in Sydney or Melbourne you will know that it is difficult to get a table. If you happen to own a card issued by Citi then this isn’t a big problem because for quite a while now the lender has been giving its card holders preferential access to a VIP bar and dinner space as part of its program. American Express card holders have their own set of privileges courtesy of American Express’s global dining program which provides special offers and discounts at over 400 restaurants globally.

Culture

If you are culturally minded and enjoy art then you should make sure you have your credit card with you next time you visit a gallery. ANZ card holders for example are able to visit the 2018 Archibald Prize free of charge. Citi has partnered with the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney so that card holders are able to receive 2 for the price of 1 entry fees.

The movies

If you are neither a foodie or art lover then there are a variety of other cards that you can choose from that provide a number of other types of privileges. If you hold an Amex you can get discounted tickets to films. Customers of St George also have the opportunity of buying pre-sale tickets at the Open Air Cinema in Sydney during summer. Even if you don’t own any of these cards, it is highly likely that you do have a card issued by Visa or MasterCard and both have great rewards programs so be sure to check them out.
